How To Wake Up At 5AM Daily (Even If You're NOT A Morning Person) | KUNAL
Wake Up at 5AM EVERY Day In today’s blog, I’m talking about how to wake up early how to wake up at 5:00 AM even if you’re not a morning person. Okay. So, let’s start this blog off by addressingthe elephant in the room.
Why in the world would anyone want to wakeup at 5:00 AM? That’s crazy, right? I mean nobody is up at 5:00 AM which is exactly the point. You want to wake up and have time to be selfish. Focus in on yourself, take care of your body, exercise, feel no remorse that you’re spending an hour on the most important asset that you were born with. The point is is that you are expanding your quality time. What I am saying is the amount of time that you have to selfishly focus in on what’s important to you all of a sudden has shotup. And the second huge benefit, you are going to be happier you’re going to feel more satisfied because at 8:00 AM when everyone else is just heading off to work, you’ve already been up for three hours you’ve been already to the gym you’ve cooked a great breakfast. Relatively speaking, you already feel accomplished and it’s a great way to start your day. All right, guys, so now let’s get into the details of waking up early, how to consistently wake at 5:00 AM. It starts the night before. Number one on my list, have a bed time routine. It sounds simple, but incredibly powerful. At 7:00 PM every night we put the electronics to bed. They don’t have their own bed, but everyone knows put them in the charging station in the kitchen. We do this because you don’t want to be looking at screens two hours before going to sleep, but most importantly we got a routine. At 8:00 PM, guess what? Bath time. Kids are brushing their teeth, adults are brushing their teeth. Everyone’s getting ready for bed and at9:00 PM everyone is in their bed. Now, does that consistently happen? No, not all the time, but we at least strive for it. We have a system and we stick to it. All right. So, I know that some of you guys are thinking,Antonio, I don’t have time for a bedtime routine, I’m a busy guy. Well, let me tell you my bed time routine is actually one of the most enjoyable parts of the day because from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at night, yes, I’m cleaning the living room helping out around the house, but I am listening to my audio books and I absolutely love it. And, guys, I use Audible, the paid sponsor of today’s video. And right now, I’m listening to Black BoxThinking. It’s a business book, but it’s got great stories and there are so many other great listens over at Audibles. Some of my other favorite listens, Deep Work by Cal Newport, an amazing listen. If you’re looking to make change to have impact, go listen to this book and learn how to do work that actually matters. Essentialism by Greg Mckeown. I have listened to this book every month probably for the last ten months because it’s a great refresher about how most things out thereis noise and you need to focus in on what’s important and helps you identify what’s important. Guys, all these books can be found over at Audibles. I’m linking to them down in the description. And, use that link because To get it, just simply go.
So, the next tip for waking up early seems obvious, but limit your caffeine intake. So many people I see them in the afternoons in the evenings drinking coffee even if it’s decaffeinated there are still caffeine in the coffee. I know for me I don’t drink coffee past 10:00 AM. Now, it happens sometimes I do cheat, but I will tell you that I never go past noon because I know that if I’m going to go to sleep at night, I need that eight to nine hours to get that caffeine out of my body. Now, this next tip is going to be tough, but don’t drink alcohol at least five hours before going to sleep. Yes, it may seem that you can fall asleepeasier, but you’re not going to sleep as well. In fact, when you’re sleeping, you’re not going to go into deep sleep nearly as much as you need to. The next tip for waking up early at 5:00 AM,guys, is to set up your bedroom so that you can actually get sleep. You have a television in your bedroom, getrid of it. This thing do not have electronics, don’thave your phone, don’t use it as an alarm. Have actually a proper alarm. Now, let’s talk about the bedroom in particular you bed. You want to have a good mattress that you are comfortable in. If you are uncomfortable, you’re rollingmultiple times a night, you’re not getting a good night sleep. Let’s then look at the sheets. You want something that is comfortable. Do you ever go to a hotel and you get into that bed and you’re like, wow, this feels great. Why don’t you spend money on a great mattresson great sheet, so every night you can want to get into your bed? Finally, let’s talk about the temperature. So, this is per individual it changes, but I find the lower temperature for me is going to help me sleep and for some reason I really like to have my feet exposed kind of like hanging out there. I find cooler feet enable me to sleep better, but there are studies that show that warmer feet will help some people asleep faster. It really depends on the person. Number five and this one is super ninja, not many people talk about this. But actually, be excited to wake up in the morning. Do you remember as a kid you were going togo maybe to Disneyland Disneyworld. You were doing something big that next day and you could not sleep. Something is going on that next day that you just fly out of bed at 4:00 AM. Why can’t you be excited about your next day? I know for me what I do is I would journaland write out just a couple great things I want to accomplish. And I think about that before going to sleep thinking about these things, getting excited about them, looking at the promise of the next day having a saying that you say to yourself at night may be a saying that you say to yourself in the morning. That right there can go so far. You can be just feel how privileged how lucky you are. You are so fortunate you’ve got this day,so use it and remind yourself of that. If you can do that, man, you’re going to be flying out of bed. Next up, let’s talk about smart alarms. A whole lot of options out there, but there are these sunrise alarms which when you wake up they’re going to all of a sudden bringlight into the room. That could be an option for some of you guys. May be it just may simply be using an alarmclock because you don’t actually use one. And if you’re going to get one, don’t get one with a snooze button, because when you hit that snooze button, the only thing you are saying you’re starting the day off with procrastination. Don’t do that. In fact, snooze on alarm they shouldn’t even exist in my opinion. And this right here, gentlemen, this is not an alarm clock that you want to have in your room. You could have it in another room, but don’tuse your phone in your room as the alarm. Bad thing especially if you’re sleepingright next to it. No, no, don’t do that.
My next tip for waking up early, have a glass of water right next to your bed. At 5:00 AM when you wake up, grab that glass of water slam it, you feel great. And guess what? Even if you would have fall back to sleep, within ten minutes you’re running back to the bathroom. Now, this next tip is really powerful and very useful if you’re not consistently waking up early. And that is to have somebody that holds you accountable. For most us, we actually have a job and, yes,we got to show up at a set time or we’ll be fired. That is a form of accountability. So, why not apply that to even earlier? Have someone that meets you at the gym at 6:00 AM. If you want to find somebody to hold you accountable, that is much more powerful in my opinion than any app out there.
So, my next tip for consistently waking upearly, gentlemen, move. First thing in the morning you want to exercise, you want to go to the gym. Hit the pool, go for a run. You want to get the blood flowing. So, I’ve met a lot of successful people, most of them exercise. And of those ones that do exercise, most do it in the morning. Why? Again, they can have time in which it’s for themselves they don’t miss it, they crave it in the morning. And when you exercise first thing in the morning, you have accomplished one of the most important things you can do for your body. So, this next tip you’re going to love and that is reward yourself, give yourself a treat, pat yourself on the back. Give yourself something nice in the morning when you wake up early. I know for me, it’s having a nice coffee. We whip up the cream, we actually use a littlebit of coconut sugar just taste, I mean, ooh, I’m just salivating thinking about that coffee. It’s that good. And when you’ve got something like that you look forward to in the morning, you are going to wake up early. Remember, gents, it’s progress not perfection. So, you go ahead and give this a shot. First week, you get three out of the sevendays. Okay, that’s a start. Maybe you take a step back. The point is is you are consistently taking steps in the right direction. So, if the tips in this blog wasn’t enough, you want more detail more information on how to consistently wake up early, how to have a great start to your day.
